Aromatic, with scents of apricot and peach. Fresh fruit flavors perfectly balanced by a racy acidity and mineral character.

J. Lohr Chardonnay, Arroyo Seco region of Monterey County ‘06

The 2006 J. Lohr Arroyo Vista Vineyard Chardonnay is a very attractive pale yellow in color, with aromas of lime and lemon custard, tangerine, peach pie and white flowers. The Burgundian winemaking techniques, including alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in barrel with lees stirring and extended aging, contribute a complex bouquet of vanilla and butterscotch and amplify an already intensely viscous wine. This is an enticingly delicious Chardonnay with complex aromas and flavors balanced by palate-cleansing acidity, perfect for pairing with roasted chicken, pork or cream-sauced pasta dishes.

Chateau St. Jean Chardonnay, Sonoma County ‘07

This medium-bodied Reserve Chardonnay opens with inviting aromas of lemon citrus, mango and fig. Unctuous notes of creamy lemon bar and papaya are layered with subtle hints of hazelnut and clove. The well-balanced acidity and complexity of flavors lead to a long finish with hints of vanilla and lemon oil.

Red Shorts Red Peirano Estate Vinyard Lodi, CA ‘05

Lodi’s superstition surrounding Lance Randolph, fourth generation grower, owner and winemaker of Peirano Estate Vineyards, and his red shorts dates back over twenty years.  Traditionally, farmers wear jeans all year round out in the fields.  Always being rebellious, Lance refused to wear his jeans in the warm Lodi summer days, so he decided to go to a local sporting goods store and purchase a pair of shorts.  Being the thrifty man that he is and finding red shorts that were on sale, he figured he may as well purchase several pairs to last him throughout the season.  As an ode to the sacrificial red shorts and the town of Lodi which legend has it named itself after  Giacomo Peirano’s horse from Lodi, Italy, Alta Genoa, Peirano’s newest blend is named Red Shorts Red (70% Syrah, 20% Petite Sirah, 5% Cab, 5% Viognier).
